The years 2008 and 2009 will be remembered as our generation’s “Great Recession.”  Unprecedented market turmoil, tightening of credit, a burst housing bubble, and ongoing questions of government spending have taken a toll on investment portfolios, along with investors’ tolerance for risk.

“After the Financial Fall” will examine the cause and effect of the 2008/2009 recession. Over three classes, we’ll explore why essentially no area of investing was “safe,” the possible future effects of decisions made today, and an overview of past recessions and the results. You’ll learn why many are now re-examining retirement, called the “New Retirementality.”

You’ll learn strategies for allocating assets that, while not fool-proof, may lend some stability going forward.  We’ll talk about the Madoff scam, regulation of financial markets, and how to avoid becoming a victim.  We’ll also discuss tactics that may help your portfolio to recover at a practical pace, in line with your goals.
